Terms of use

This English version is provided for convenience. In case of any difference, the French version prevails.

1. Who publishes BoxTales, and what these terms cover

BoxTales is published by Charlotte Cachet, a French sole proprietor (entrepreneur individuel, EI) trading as Lucidblur (see the legal notice). These terms apply to your use of the app and of AI analysis scans, whether free or paid. By using BoxTales, you accept them.

BoxTales is for people aged 18 and over.

2. The app

BoxTales is free to download. Creating storage units, adding items by hand, searching, printing labels and backing up your inventory never use a scan.

Your inventory is saved on your phone, not with us. It’s yours, and backing it up is up to you: without an exported file, uninstalling the app or switching phones means losing it.

3. The AI suggests, you decide

A scan sends a photo to an AI service, which suggests a list of the items it recognizes. That list is a suggestion: it may miss an item, invent one or get a quantity wrong. You check and fix it before saving.

Only send photos you’re allowed to take and share, and nothing unlawful. Avoid people, ID documents and confidential papers: the privacy policy explains what happens to a photo.

4. Scans

5. Welcome scans

While the offer is running, BoxTales gives you 3 scans the first time you use it, once per phone. They work just like purchased scans. The number of free scans given out each day is limited: if today’s limit is reached, yours will be available the next day. If the device ID can’t be read, the offer can’t be granted.

Lucidblur may suspend or change this offer at any time. Scans already given are never taken back.

6. Availability and liability

AI analysis depends on third-party services and an internet connection. It may be temporarily unavailable; manual entry always works. A scan that fails isn’t counted.

Lucidblur isn’t responsible for losing an inventory you didn’t back up, or for a mistake in a suggested list that you confirmed. This limit doesn’t apply to gross negligence or wilful misconduct on our part, or to rights the law guarantees you and that can’t be waived.

7. Intellectual property and changes

You may use BoxTales for your personal needs. The app, its text, illustrations and brand remain the property of Charlotte Cachet.

These terms may change as the app evolves; the date of the latest update is shown at the top of the page. Scans you’ve bought stay governed by the terms in force on the day you bought them.

8. Complaints, governing law

For any complaint: contact@lucidblur.fr. Tell us what happened.

These terms are governed by French law. If you live in another country, you keep the protection of its mandatory rules and can bring a claim before the courts where you live.
